Ideas To Architecture Art Nouveau
ART NOUVEAU (1819-1914)
This age is a revolutionary movement where there is a strict barrier between pure art and art. Art Nouveau focuses more on the concept of understanding modern life and methods of production. Artists are required to be creative from architecture to furniture design, so art is a part of everyday life. Beauty and harmony are part of everyday life; Artists participate to make human life more beautiful.
Art Nouveau greatly influenced the development of the De Stijl style (Dutch: 1920s) and the Bauhaus School in Germany (1920s-1930s).
The name ‘Art Nouveau’ comes from the name of a shop in Paris, Maison de l’Art Nouveau, owned by Siegfried Bing, which exhibits objects that characterize the art nouveau flow design.
